BREAKING: God Told Me Not to Collect Offerings — Isaac Oyedepo Unveils New Ministry
Pastor Isaac Oyedepo, son of the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has revealed that God instructed him not to collect offerings as he officially launched his new ministry.
Oyedepo made the disclosure while unveiling Isaac Oyedepo Evangelistic Ministries (IOEM) during its inaugural Sunday service in Abuja, a development that has since generated widespread reactions across social media and the Christian community.
According to him, the directive was a clear instruction from God and is central to the vision of the new ministry.
“God specifically told me not to collect offerings. This is not a doctrine for the entire Body of Christ, but an instruction for the assignment He has given to me,” Oyedepo said.
He explained that the ministry’s focus is discipleship, spiritual growth, and deepening believers’ relationship with God, rather than financial emphasis. He added that while offerings are biblical and valid in many churches, obedience to divine instruction remains paramount.
Oyedepo stressed that the decision should not be misunderstood as an attack on churches that collect offerings, noting that different ministries operate under different divine mandates.
“Offerings are not wrong. But for this ministry, God has given a specific direction, and I must follow it,” he added.
The announcement has stirred mixed reactions online, with some praising the move as refreshing and faith-driven, while others expressed surprise, given his background as the son of one of Africa’s most prominent prosperity preachers.
Isaac Oyedepo previously served as a pastor within Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel) before stepping out to begin his independent evangelical assignment. He emphasized that his decision was made after prayerful consideration and alignment with God’s will.
As the ministry begins operations, many observers will be watching closely to see how its unconventional approach shapes its impact and growth in the coming months.
