Anthony Joshua’s Team Members Identified as Victims of Ogun Road Crash

The two individuals who lost their lives in the road accident involving British-Nigerian heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua on December 29 have been identified as long-time members of his training team, according to multiple reports.
The deceased were named as Sina “Evolve” Ghami, a sports rehabilitation specialist, and Kevin “Latif” Ayodele, also known as “Latz,” a personal trainer and fitness coach. Both men were described by associates as close friends and integral figures in Joshua’s professional career.
Sina “Evolve” Ghami
Ghami worked with Joshua for more than a decade as his sports and exercise rehabilitation coach. He specialised in musculoskeletal injury management and corrective exercise, focusing on injury prevention and performance optimisation.
A childhood friend of Joshua, Ghami was regularly present during major bouts, including Joshua’s 2017 heavyweight title fight against Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium. In the same year, he co-founded Evolve Gym in Ruislip, London, a fitness facility catering to both professional athletes and the general public.
Ghami had previously worked with athletes across different sports, including American football and basketball, and was widely respected for his multidisciplinary approach to physical conditioning.
Kevin “Latif” Ayodele
Ayodele served as Joshua’s personal trainer and was known for promoting holistic fitness, mental discipline, and balanced wellness. He was also active on social media under the name Healthy_Mindset, where he shared fitness and motivational content.
Born Kevin Ayodele, he adopted the name Abdul Latif after converting to Islam in 2012. He had worked with several high-profile athletes, including boxing champion Badou Jack and rugby player Sonny Bill Williams.
Earlier on the day of the accident, Joshua had shared a video on social media showing himself and Ayodele playing table tennis, highlighting their close relationship.

community. Promoter Eddie Hearn and several professional athletes described both men as dedicated professionals and valued members of Joshua’s team.The accident occurred along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, where the vehicle carrying Joshua and his associates reportedly collided with a stationary truck. Joshua sustained minor injuries and is said to be in stable condition.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings have pointed to possible excessive speed and an overtaking manoeuvre, though officials say inquiries are ongoing.
